On November 29, registration will open for our 2024 FENS Forum (June 25-29, 2024, Messe Wien). We host this meeting with our partner, the Hungarian Neuroscience Society. You already find plenty of information on the meeting, including the Preliminary Program with all Plenary Lectures and Symposia, on the Forum Website.

A major task for the two Host Societies ANA and MITT is the organization of the ECTP (Early Career Training Program), where labs in Austria and Hungary host young scientists for a 2-3 weeks period prior to the FENS Forum. Both FENS and IBRO support the program by providing individual travel grants á 1,000 Euro for each successful visitor.

Besides opening opportunities for our guests, the program is also a unique chance to showcase neuroscience research in Austria. Hence, all attendees of the Forum can see the (hopefully) comprehensive list of labs where neuroscience research takes place in Austria. The list may thus be seen as a compass of our neuroscience community at large.

In order to give our labs the opportunity to still register for the program we extend the deadline for registration to October 27, 2023. For further information on the program and to register please fill out the online form following this link.

Looking forward to your participation in the program, sincerely yours

    Isabella Sarto-Jackson, ANA President

Gerald Obermair, Organizer of the ECTP

Call for Symposia and Technical Workshops for the FENS Forum 2024, Vienna, Austria

    Dear ANA members,

Hopefully you could read the FENS  Call for symposia and technical workshops for the FENS Forum 2024 in Vienna. It was mailed by FENS on February 22, 2023.  Please note that the deadline for submission has been extended to May 22, 2023. By clicking on the link you will be guided through the submission process.

I would like to encourage you to submit proposals. We will have 56 symposia which, together with plenary lectures, will make the core of FENS Forum.  In addition, up to 6 Technical Workshops will be scheduled on June 25, 2024, the first day of the meeting.

A good meeting is made by contributions from the participants, so having submissions that cover a broad range of topics to be chosen from is crucial. The choice done by the FENS program committee is highly competitive, so please do not be disappointed if your proposal is not accepted.

You actually have a second choice thereafter: Once plenary lectures and symposia have been selected by the program committee, the community will be invited to submit satellite and special events. Details on these activities will be published in due time.

    Sincerely yours

    Sigismund Huck,

Chair of the FENS Forum 2024 Host Society
